Waldo noise-mocking of an over-the-top counterculture type, spiritual New Age type, or euphoric Grateful Dead deadhead type. The noise sounds like the twang of a lower note guitar string. The sound would sometimes be accompanied by hand imitations of the hand motions of spaced-out dancers at some rock concerts.

Undercurrent of Waldo usage:

The Waldos were Northern California hippies…and therefore we strongly believed ‘do anything you want as long as you don’t hurt anybody else’. We also liked The Grateful Dead (but were not die-hard worshipers fans known as Deadheads.) All of the counterculture goings on around us were great… but we still made light of it.
