A noise made for amusement. Used like Eyot–said to unsuspecting strangers for the purpose of secretly laughing at their reaction or response, or at their obliviousness to the sound. The word has no meaning whatsoever. It started out as just “Zoit,” but when a Waldo uttered it instantly after taking a hit off a joint, the mouth smoke-sucking noise was combined with “Zoit” to become “FFFT Zoit!”
Doing anything to amuse ourselves, we walked up to countless naïve tourists in San Francisco and made the noise, “FFFT Zoit!”
